KIDS YOGA
Join us and Fresh Coast Yoga instructors for a summer of Kid’s Yoga! We’ll be meeting weekly on Tuesdays, from 12-1pm, beginning Tuesday, June 20, on the pier, weather permitting. We have a limited amount of yoga mats available, so please bring one if you are able.
Library’s Board of Trustees: Budget Hearing and Monthly Meeting
The Library’s Board of Trustees hosts their annual budget hearing meeting followed by their monthly public meeting on Wednesday, June 28th, 2023 from 7:00 – 8:00pm in the Community Room. Click here for agenda.
Join us on Thursday, June 8, for a free seminar and demonstration on the process and origin of stained glass, presented by artist Lauren Hamlett. There will be two sessions, one at 2pm and one at 6pm.
Worm Composting Workshop
Join us on Saturday, April 29, from 11:30am – 2:30pm and learn how to turn your basement or extra counter space into a year round composting site ! Bring your own recycled, washed container with lid, yogurt or coffee containers work great, for a free handful of red worms to start! Brought to you by the Copper Country Recycling Initiative.
Superior Fab Lab:Arduino Workshop
Dr. Shane Oberloier will cover the basics of Arduino microcontrollers, sensors, and breadboards and then work with attendees to create various projects on Thursday, April 27, from 6 – 7:30pm. These small open-source electronics are great for students, hobbyists, artists, programmers, and professionals to easily and inexpensively create and test their designs. No experience necessary. Earth Day with City of Houghton
Join us and the City of Houghton on Saturday, April 22, from 10:00am – 12:00pm on the new pier for the city garden clean-up and sunflower seed planting. There will also be supplies for drop-in rock painting in the library community room. Parents must supervise this activity as the paint is permanent.
Sewing with Cynthia: Mug Rug
Learn how to sew a mug rug (coaster made of fabric) on Saturday, April 15, from 11am – 1pm! Bring your own sewing machine, or we have two for use at the library. This is the perfect opportunity to learn how to use a sewing machine. Materials provided.
Cricut Craft: Glass Etching
Join us on Thursday, April 13, from 6 – 7pm for a Cricut Crafty project! We’ll be demonstrating how to use our Cricut Machine to cut out templates for glass etching on glass mugs. All materials provided. Email aziemnick@pldl.org to reserve your spot.
