Programs & Events

We currently have a weekly Storytime (Fridays at 10:30am) and a monthly Adult Book Club. Check out the calendar below for recurring and special events.

Our Story

As of November 1, 2018, the Hancock School Public Library is operated by the Portage Lake District Library (PLDL). PLDL is staffing the Hancock library and providing books and other materials, access to library databases, interlibrary loans that enable patrons to borrow books from other libraries, and programming.

The agreement does not give Hancock residents membership access to the main library in Houghton. They will  have to purchase out-of-district memberships if they wish to make full use of the PLDL in Houghton.
