Pest and Fertilizer Management
Join Copper Country Recycling Initiative on Saturday, July 23, from 12:30 – 2:30pm for a class on basic to advanced information and guidance to keep your crops pest free and well fertilized throughout the summer, including container gardens, raised beds, and open field farming.
Kivajat Dancers
Come experience the joy of traditional Finnish folk dance on Friday, July 22, from 12 – 1pm! The Kivajat Finnish American Folk Dance Group (youth) is sponsored by the Finnish American Heritage Center of Finlandia University. After the performance at noon, audience members of all ages may try a few dances!
Mental Health Support Group/Keweenaw Area
Please join us for a free class for the general public on QPR on Thursday, July 14, from 6 – 7:30pm. QPR stands for Question, Persuade, Refer. It is a well researched program to teach people how to talk with someone who may be in a mental health crisis.
For the love of Finnish folk music
Come join us on Thursday, July 14, from 1 – 2pm and Laulu Aika, a group of musicians who share a passion for singing and playing Finnish folk tunes for audiences who enjoy listening or dancing. Their repertoire includes Finnish couples dances such as waltzes, polkas, humppa, jenkka, mazurkka, and hambo, as well as lively group dances for all ages to enjoy.

Science Demos with TRIO
